So yesterday was our first anniversary. Alhamdulillah we are still alive to celebrate it. How fast the time goes by. In a flash, it's already a year. My mother-in-law made a joke, "It has been a year but do you feel like it's been fifty years?" Haha. Honestly, I don't really know. My life has been changing from one phase to another too fast! I don't have time to sit and think about it. I didn't have that much time to get to know my husband because suddenly I'm a mom and we have to get to know our baby! So I guess I don't feel like it has been fifty years. One year is just right for me. We are still learning about each other. There's so much to learn. There's always something new to discover everyday. Like today, he just found out that I like polar bears and I discovered that he likes panda bears. Anyway, what is most important is that, we have to be patient with each other and love one another to the moon and back.

I have no idea why this cafe is called Spruce Goose. I should read up on the history or ask them about it, but I'm too busy looking at the menu and taking pictures for that. This cafe is quite popular. I say that because every time we pass by here, it looked like a full house. This cafe is very near to our house. We can just walk here but... we never did. Hehe... yes I know we should exercise more! Anyway, this cafe is located at Lyall Bay. It has a seaside view (which I love) and an airport view on the left. You can watch planes take off and land. I've only been here twice. For breakfast and late afternoon coffee.
Eggs with salmon.
Eggs with spinach.
Latte, milk shake, cake and fries. The fries are really good!
Ramadhan is approaching. No more cafe hopping for a while. But my husband said we'll go here again before Ramadan. Yeay!!! XD

If you are a flower / garden person, the Lady Norwood Rose Garden at Wellington's Botanical Garden is a must visit. Of course, you must visit in the summer to see the roses bloom or else you'll just be seeing weeds. There are so many types of roses here, I lost count. When you are done admiring the roses, you can chill at their cafe called 'Picnic' but I don't have a photo of the cafe.
I can't be too wordy these day. So, here are some photos! Enjoy!
My favorite flower is of course, Little Miss Strawberry.

This is one of my favorite cafe. Loving this one because of the view. It is located in Shelly Bay, Wellington. If you sit outside the cafe, you'll get to see the bay as well as feel the cool Wellington breeze on your face. It is kids friendly cafe too because it has so many toys/children's gears for them to play while the parents enjoy the meal.
You won't miss the sign.
Lots of parking spaces.
On sunny days, you can sit outside and enjoy the sun.
Lots of seafood meals here. I love the mussel sandwich.
Seafood chowder and toast are yummy-licious!
That's all I have time for right now.
Until later xxx

At the moment, my worries are on my studies. I am a PhD mom and needs to concentrate on being a student, mother as well as a wife. I can't go to uni like I used to. When I was single I went out of the house at 7.30am and came home at around 11pm. Well, gone are the days. From now on, it's work from home. But that's a big challenge because there's too many distractions at home. There's laundry, food in the kitchen and a baby who wants my attention. But, I am working on to be a master juggler. InsyaaAllah I can cope. I am not the only PhD mom out there. I know so many PhD moms and they have completed their thesis on time. InsyaaAllah I can do the same. My other challenge is that, I am a new mother and I have little clue on how to take care of a baby.
Anyway, I look at Medina and I am reminded at how much I wanted her. I prayed to Allah for a child and Allah answered my prayer as soon as I got married. Alhamdulillah. For that I am forever grateful. I love her so much. Little Medina is growing up healthily, Alhamdulillah. I look at her everyday and see a chubbier and longer baby. MasyaAllah! Time passed by so quickly. In a blink of an eye she has grown. Amazing! I don't want to miss these moments. My parents even offered to take care of her in Malaysia so that I can concentrate on my PhD in New Zealand. I don't think I want that, no matter how tempting it sounds. PhD can wait. Medina is my priority. When she needs me, I have to close my laptop. When she is asleep, I open it up again. I know in my heart that Allah will help me. InsyaaAllah. He wouldn't give something that you can't handle right?
A doa I found to ease your days...
Read it everyday. InsyaaAllah Allah will make things easy for us. Ameen.
*Photos were from the world wide web.

I love taking pictures of absolutely anything pretty and I see beauty in everything. So that's a lot of things huh? I love taking pictures while traveling. The sceneries, the people and the food! Oh how I miss my DSLR. Someday I think I want to buy a DSLR again so that I can capture Medina's beautiful moments.
Anyway, since I love taking pictures of food, I have decided to do entries of 'cafe hopping'. From now on, I'll be reviewing cafes and put up pictures of food. Well, if I have the time anyway. I don't think I have much time to write, so I'll just post lots of photos for you to drool on. XD Not that it is my intention, I just love the pictures.
So here goes... my first cafe hopping entry. This is Scorch-O-Rama. The location is at Scorching Bay, Wellington. It's nicer to go in the summer because you can sit outside, basking in the sun and enjoy the blue sea. But don't worry if there's no sun. On windy or rainy days, you can enjoy the grey sea by eating in a glass room section. Personally, I love sitting in the glass room section, rain or shine. I sit outside when I only want to eat ice-creams. And they have lovely ice-creams and milk shakes there.
Okay, some photos of this cafe....
Bluish-green building of the cafe.
Loving the food and ambiance here.
Fush un chups.
A bowl of (greens, oh and orange and white) salad.
Garlic and chili prawns with rice.
A cup of latte with good art is always a delight to capture on camera.
